How far in advance of my wedding should I shop for my wedding gown?
Girl you're engaged! Let's get you started with planning. We recommend shopping for your wedding dress at the very beginning of your wedding planning. Most gowns take between 5-7 months to arrive from the date you order the dress, so to give yourself a stress-free experience and to avoid rush fees, it's great to start shopping a year before your wedding. If you have less than six months before your big day, we still have lots of options that can be ready in time for your wedding. Rush fees and availability depend on the designer. We also have a frequently-changing selection of sample gowns that can be purchased out of the collection, which are great for very short time-frame brides!
Do you have options in my price point?
At BB Bridal, we offer an incredible selection of gowns, priced from $1300 to $4800. Most gowns will fall in the range of $1500 - $2500. When you come in for your appointment, your bridal stylist will help you choose gowns in a price range that you're comfortable with. Tax is not included, so something to consider.
Who should I bring with me to my appointment?
We recommend bringing friends and family members whose opinions you value most. You will have a private bridal suite, so you will have room for your guests!
Bring those that will listen to how you are feeling and encourage you to follow your heart and understand your vision. You can find a dress when you least expect it, and want to make sure you have your people. If someone can’t make it, we can Facetime anyone who can’t make it.
What should I bring with me to my appointment?
Feel free to bring pictures of gowns that inspire you. If you don't already have a vision of what you like, no worries - we'll help you figure out what you love! You can visit our gowns on our website or follow us @bbbridalboise on Instagram. As far as special undergarments - no need! Our gowns have structure already built in.
What can I expect during my appointment?
Unlike shopping for everyday attire, bridal gown shopping is a highly personalized experience. Scheduling an appointment ensures that you receive one-on-one attention from a dedicated bridal stylist, who can guide you through the selection and fitting of gowns tailored to your style, budget, and vision. Appointments allow us to reserve a private bridal suite for you and your guests, creating a relaxed and intimate environment to explore options, ask questions, and celebrate this special moment. This focused approach simply isn’t possible with walk-in visits, as it might not guarantee the privacy, support, or time needed for such a meaningful decision.
Your appointment is thoughtfully scheduled for 90 minutes. While this may seem brief, our process is finely tuned to make every moment count. Your bridal stylist will work closely with you, drawing on your vision to select a range of gowns—including both your top picks and a few unexpected "wild cards" that may surprise and delight you. This approach ensures you see not only the styles you anticipated, but also discover options that could capture your heart in ways you hadn’t imagined. We strive to make the experience efficient, dynamic, and above all, unforgettable as you search for “the one.”
Will I need alterations?
After you’ve chosen your dream gown, the journey to the perfect fit begins with alterations. Every bride’s body and every gown is unique, so tailoring your dress ensures it fits perfectly. The alterations process typically starts about two months before your wedding day, which provides ample time for fittings and any necessary adjustments.
At BB Bridal, alterations are not included in the gown’s price and are not performed in-house, but you’ll receive a list of trusted local specialists who regularly work with our brides. This allows you to choose a tailor convenient to your location and timeline.
Do you have veils and accessories?
Yes, we offer a beautiful selection of veils to complement your gown and complete your bridal look. From classic cathedral-length veils to modern fingertip, our accessories collection is curated to suit a variety of tastes and visions. During your appointment, your stylist can help you try different veil options to see what best enhances your gown and matches your personal style. If you have a specific look in mind, let us know—we’re happy to guide you in creating the perfect ensemble for your special day.
How many stores should I visit?
One of the unique joys of shopping with us is the opportunity to discover bridal gowns crafted by celebrated designers from all over the world—all available right here in Boise. Our boutique brings the artistry and vision of nationally renowned creators together under one roof, so you don’t need to travel far and wide to access the very best in modern bridal fashion. Having a lot of appointments can dilute the experience and could cause a lot of stress, especially if you find “the one” at the first appointment, but feel obligated to go to the other appointments. We recommend researching dresses and shops and go to those shops that carry styles that match your vision.
